日本はものづくり大国とも言われ、伝統工藝（伝統的工藝品）、民藝（民衆的工藝品）、手工藝といった言葉で表されるものづくりが数多くあります。
そのような手仕事は、地域の自然環境や生活文化等を背景に、多種多様なかたちとなり、文化や産業を発展させ、人々や社会に心を伝えてきました。
工藝・民藝の字である「藝」の語源を辿ると、「草木を植え育てる」という意味があります。
本展では、文化や手仕事を世界中の皆様へ知ってほしいと、各地から職人、作家、生産者、出演者、作品が集います。
是非、新たな出逢いを見つけに、繋がりにいらしてください。
Japan is renowned as a nation of artistry, with a rich tradition of craftsmanship expressed through terms such as traditional crafts, folk crafts, and handicrafts. These handmade works have developed in diverse forms, shaped by the natural environment and local cultural practices of each region. They have fostered cultural and industrial growth while conveying heartfelt messages to people and society.
The character "藝" used in the words for craft traces its origins to the act "to plant and nurture vegetation."
In this exhibition, artisans, creators, producers, performers, and works from various regions gather to share these cultural traditions and crafts with the world.

日本の新たな伝統工芸
小松九谷と井波彫刻は、それぞれ石・木という自然からの恵みが、職人の磨き上げられた技術力によって創り上げられます。今、二つの伝統工芸が、数百年の時を経てコラボレーションしました。
世界に認められた小松九谷と、日本一の技術力を持つ井波彫刻が合わさることによって生まれる新たな魅力をお楽しみいただけます。

打刃物の奇跡が織り成す鋭刃の饗宴
「三木金物」と「越前打刃物」を用いて組み上げられた巨大モニュメント「金物鷲」と「昇龍」を一堂に集め、その美しさと職人技術の結晶を展示。古来から続く日本有数の刃物産地の技術に触れることで、日本の伝統工芸やものづくり技術について深く知ることができます。

～日本茶の文化と風味を楽しむ～
万博をきっかけに、全国有数のお茶と茶筌の産地５市がコラボレーション！皆さんに日本茶の魅力をお伝えします。受け継がれてきた日本茶の歴史や文化、職人の技に触れ、日本茶の広い世界を五感で楽しんでください。

2つの神楽の特徴や舞手の思い、職人の技を堪能できる時間。時空を超えて、神話の世界に誘われます。

A New Vision for Japanese Handicrafts: Komatsu Kutani Ware Meets Inami Woodcarving
Nature’s riches are central to Kutani ware and Inami woodcarving. In both traditions, artisans apply their knowledge and craftsmanship to stone (Kutani ware) and wood (Inami woodcarving) to create their masterpieces.
Now, these two centuries-old crafts are coming together to create something new for Expo 2025.
Visit our booth to witness this never-before-seen marriage between world-renowned Komatsu Kutani ware and Japan’s leading woodcarving tradition.

Craftsmanship and the Differences in Various Materials: The Collaboration of Local Techniques and Charms, With the Thoughts of Artisans
Bamboo, Chests, Gloves, Combs, Sculptures. Each of these carries the craftsmanship of artisans that has been passed down through history and culture. Through various exhibitions and experiences, we will deliver the differences in materials and techniques of traditional Japanese crafts that Japan takes pride in, along with the charm of the cities where these crafts thrive and the thoughts of artisans.

A feast of sharp blades woven by the miracle of forged blades
Giant monuments “Kanamono Washi (Hardware Eagle)” and “Shoryu (ascending Dragon)” assembled with “MIKI Kanamono (Hardware)” and “ECHIZEN Uchihamono (Forged Blades)” are exhibited in one place, showing the beauty and craftsmanship of these two monuments. Visitors can learn more about traditional Japanese crafts and manufacturing techniques by experiencing the skills of one of Japan’s leading cutlery production centers that been in existence since ancient times.

Tea Journey
-Enjoy the culture and flavors of Japanese tea-
Taking advantage of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, five cities in Japan's leading tea and tea whisk production areas will collaborate. We will tell visitors about the appeal of Japanese tea. Visitors can experience the history, culture, and craftsmanship of Japanese tea that has been passed down through the generations. Please enjoy the wide world of Japanese tea with all your senses.

Iron, Soil, and Fire,
The materials, techniques, and landscapes from each production area will be exhibited at the same time to show the world the “City of manufacturing” woven by industries born from the ancient relationship between people and nature in Japan. For this purpose, craftsmen from both cities will give demonstrations, allowing visitors to experience traditional “manufacturing” up close.

Travel back in time to the good old Edo Period
Four cities and towns from the east and west of the Tokaido will come together to offer an opportunity to experience the culture and art fostered along the Tokaido and to experience local products from each region along the road.
You can experience the scenery and worldview of the Edo period and learn about the charms of each region.

Kagura and craftsmanship that have continued to be performed alongside people's lives.
"Kagura" is the Japanese spirit of prayer.
"Iwami Kagura" from Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture and "Mera no Kagura" from Miyazaki Prefecture ( Saito city, Kijyo Town, Nishimera Village) will perform dances.
You can enjoy the characteristics of the two Kagura, the thoughts of the dancers, and the craftsmanship of the artisans. You will be invited to a world of mythology that transcends time and space.

Ensemble for the Future
-A Stage for Resonating Life Together-
This Expo marks the first collaboration of three cities united by "sound." Nasushiobara City will feature a chorus with Linz City, Toyonaka City will present the Toyonaka Piano, and Okinawa City will perform the Eisa. This special stage offers a unique opportunity to enjoy "sounds" that resonate and enrich life.
