いのちを繋ぐ日本的霊性 Japanese Spirituality that Connects Lives
今回の万博のテーマは「いのち」
いのちを輝かせる、繋いでいく、とはどのようなことでしょうか。
禅をはじめ東洋文化を世界に広めた鈴木大拙氏は、「・・・霊性は精神の奥に潜在して居るはたらき・・・」という言葉を綴っています。
本展では、生命の根源である水に見る日本的霊性として「かまくら」「日本酒」を、舞いに見るそれとして「神楽」「祭り」を、自然信仰に見るそれとして「工藝」「民藝」をご覧いただきます。
日本のみならず世界各地に大切にされている "それ" を、こころとかたちで探してみてください。
The theme of this Expo is "Life."
What does it mean to make life shine and to pass it on to future generations?
D.T. Suzuki, a prominent figure who introduced Zen and Eastern philosophy to the world, wrote, "…Spirituality is the latent function residing deep within the spirit…"
In this exhibition, we present elements of Japanese spirituality related to the source of life, water, through Kamakura (traditional igloo-like snow huts) and sake. As well as we explore this spirituality through dances such as Kagura (Shinto ritual dance) and Matsuri (festival dances), and through nature worship with craftsmanship and folk art.
Please feel and discover this deeply cherished "essence," not only in Japan but also in cultures around the world, through both your heart and physical form.

日本の新たな伝統工芸
小松九谷と井波彫刻は、それぞれ石・木という自然からの恵みが、職人の磨き上げられた技術力によって創り上げられます。今、二つの伝統工芸が、数百年の時を経てコラボレーションしました。
世界に認められた小松九谷と、日本一の技術力を持つ井波彫刻が合わさることによって生まれる新たな魅力をお楽しみいただけます。

You can experience my sterious Japanese culture connected by water with snow country‘s
culture that worships water deity Yokote‘s Kamakura and Harima’s Sake made with rich climate and traditional techniches.

STAGE
Kagura and craftsmanship that have continued to be performed alongside people's lives.
"Kagura" is the Japanese spirit of prayer.
"Iwami Kagura" from Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture and "Mera no Kagura" from Miyazaki Prefecture ( Saito city, Kijyo Town, Nishimera Village) will perform dances.
You can enjoy the characteristics of the two Kagura, the thoughts of the dancers, and the craftsmanship of the artisans. You will be invited to a world of mythology that transcends time and space.

A New Vision for Japanese Handicrafts: Komatsu Kutani Ware Meets Inami Woodcarving
Nature’s riches are central to Kutani ware and Inami woodcarving. In both traditions, artisans apply their knowledge and craftsmanship to stone (Kutani ware) and wood (Inami woodcarving) to create their masterpieces.
Now, these two centuries-old crafts are coming together to create something new for Expo 2025.
Visit our booth to witness this never-before-seen marriage between world-renowned Komatsu Kutani ware and Japan’s leading woodcarving tradition.

The energy of dance bringing good luck and happiness
A special stage where you can feel the different expressions of each festival that pray for a good match, a safe childbirth, a bountiful harvest and a good catch.
Traditional festivals that have been passed down for generations in each region will collaborate at the Expo to bring the energy of festivals through dance.
