全国各地から集結した5つのまちと、日本の食の素晴らしさを伝える「おにぎり神谷」がコラボレーション。個性豊かな特産品を素材に、ここでしか味わえないスペシャルなおにぎりを提供します。日本のソウルフード『おにぎり』が、産地の文化、歴史、人、そして世界をひとつに結びます。

Five cities from all over the country will collaborate with “Onigiri (rice balls) Kamiya”, which conveys Japan's culinary wonders. Special onigiri that can only be tasted here are offered using unique local specialities as ingredients. The Japanese soul food “Onigiri” combines the culture, history and people of where it is made and shares it with the rest of the world.

「おにぎり」は日本のソウルフード。弥生時代から2000年にわたり、親しまれる伝統食です。呼び名もおにぎりだけでなく、人と人の良縁を結ぶ縁起の良いものとして「おむすび(お結び)」とも言われます。おにぎりを構成する米、のり、塩、食材…その種類は無限大。そんなおにぎりを日本各地から地域を代表する特徴的な食材を集め、皆さんに提供します。日本の様々なおにぎり、味、食感、そしてその地域の歴史をぜひお楽しみください。

Traditional Japanese Food “Onigiri”

For Japanese people, the rice ball, or "onigiri", is considered an iconic comfort food. It is a traditional food that has been enjoyed by the common people for 2000 years, ever since the Yayoi period. As it is considered an auspicious food that bonds people together, it is also called "omusubi", which means "connection". The variety of ingredients used in the making of onigiri such as rice, seaweed, salt and fillings are endless. We will be offering many kinds of onigiri made with unique ingredients representative of regions from all over Japan. Please enjoy the variety of tastes, textures as well as local histories when eating them.

日本海に面し、城下町の歴史風情が今も残る新潟県村上市。ここでは千年以上にわたり、鮭と人々の絆が紡がれてきました。会場では村上の気候風土が作り出す逸品「塩引き鮭」など、伝統の味をおにぎりに込めます。鮭への畏敬の念から、一匹を無駄なく使い切る知恵が生んだ食文化。それは自然との共生を表す、まさに日本の心そのもの。村上の鮭文化を、おにぎりを通じてご体験ください。

A Thousand-Year Bond: Murakami, the City Living in Harmony with Salmon

Murakami City in Niigata Prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan, still retains the historical ambiance of a castle town. Here, for over a thousand years, a bond between salmon and people has been woven. At the venue, we offer onigiri (rice balls) filled with traditional flavors, including the exquisite "SHIOBIKIZAKE" (salt-cured salmon), a product of Murakami's unique climate and terrain. The food culture born from the wisdom of using every part of a salmon without waste, stemming from a deep reverence for the fish, truly embodies the Japanese spirit of living in harmony with nature. Experience Murakami's salmon culture through these special onigiri.

大阪・万博会場からすぐ近くの大阪府松原市には古くから生産されている伝統産品がたくさんあります。明治3年から生産されている最高級合鴨の「河内鴨」は、G20大阪サミットで正式食材に採用されており、孵化から加工販売まで一貫して行われているため、新鮮でクセがなく、上質な味が楽しめます。その他にも大阪の伝統野菜で日本の葱のルーツともいわれる強い甘みとぬめりが特徴の「難波葱」や独自製法で明治35年から生産されている昆布佃煮があります。会場では、「河内鴨」と「難波葱」をかけ合わせたおにぎりと昆布佃煮を用いた旨味たっぷりのおにぎりを提供します。「まつばら」の魅力が詰まった特別なおにぎりをぜひご賞味ください。

A lot of great food in Matsubara

Matsubara City in Osaka Prefecture, just a stone's throw from the Expo 2025 Osaka,Kansai,Japan site, has many traditional products that have been produced for a long time. The Kawachi duck, a top-quality duck that has been produced since 1897, was adopted as an official food ingredient at the G20 Osaka Summit, and its fresh, unctuous, high-quality flavor can be enjoyed because the entire process from hatching to processing and sales is done in an integrated manner. Other products include "Namba leek," a traditional Osaka vegetable with a strong sweetness and sliminess that is said to be the root of leek in Japan, and kombu tsukudani, which has been produced since 1902 using a proprietary method. At the venue, we will offer Onigiri with a combination of "Kawachi duck" and "Namba leek" as well as Onigiri full of flavor made with kombu tsukudani. We hope you will enjoy these special Onigiri filled with the charm of "Matsubara."

有田みかんと紀伊水道の恵み

日本農業遺産にも認定された、有田地方のみかん栽培は、450年前に伊藤孫右衛門が九州から苗木を持ち帰ったのが始まりとされています。平地が少ない有田市では、山の斜面に石垣を組んでみかんを栽培する農法が確立され、海路で江戸(現在の東京)へ輸送することで、貧しい暮らしをしていた農民に大きな富をもたらしました。
また、沿岸部では紀伊水道を漁場とする集落が古くから点在し、「うたせ船」による底引き網漁、「逢井八角」と呼ばれる定置網漁、一本釣り、刺し網と多様な漁業が営まれてきました。手漕ぎから帆船、動力船と近代化を重ねつつも、これら漁法は現在も受け継がれ、和歌山県有数の沿岸漁港となっています。

Mandarin orange cultivation in the Arida region is one of Japanese Nationally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems.It is believed to have started 450 years ago when Magoemon Ito brought back saplings from Kyushu.In Arida, where there is little flat land, a farming method was established where oranges are cultivated by building stone walls on the mountain slopes.And the harvested oranges were then transported by sea to Edo (now Tokyo), bringing great wealth to the impoverished farmers.
In addition, the coastal areas have also long been dotted with fishing villages that use the Kii Channel as a fishing ground.Each fishing village has a diverse fishing industry, bottom trawling with "Utase boats", set-net fishing known as "Ooi Hakkaku", single line fishing and gill nets.Although modernised from rowing to sailing and motorboats, these fishing methods have been handed down to the present day, and the area is one of the leading coastal fishing ports in Wakayama Prefecture.


長州黒かしわ 長門ゆずきち 百姓の塩 CRAFT ONSEN 恩湯(飲料用)

本州の最西北端、山口県北部にある長門市。
一人当たりのやきとり店舗数が全国トップクラスであるなど、「やきとりのまち」としても有名です。万博では、長門市で主に飼育され、疲労回復成分を多く含む山口県産オリジナル地鶏「長州黒かしわ」を炭火で焼き上げ、適度な噛み応えと鶏本来の旨味が感じられるおにぎりをご用意しました。
また、長門市には市内に5つの温泉地があります。約600年の歴史を持つ長門湯本温泉「恩湯」は、岩盤から直接温泉が湧出する様子を見ることができる全国でも珍しい温泉施設で、万博ではミネラル成分たっぷりの「飲む温泉 恩湯」で炊いた温泉塩おにぎりも合わせてご用意していますので、ぜひご賞味ください。

The food in Nagato is "all different, but all delicious".

Nagato City is located in the north-westernmost part of Japan’s main island, Honshu, in northern Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is also famous as a ‘yakitori town’, with the number of yakitori restaurants per capita being among the highest in Japan. At the Expo, the Yamaguchi Prefecture-raised ‘Choshu Kuro Kashiwa’ Jidori chicken, which is mainly raised in Nagato City, is grilled over charcoal and served with rice balls adding a moderate chewiness to the umami (the original flavour) of the chicken.
In addition, Nagato City has five hot spring resorts. Nagato Yumoto Onsen ‘Onto’, which has a history of approximately 600 years, is one of the few hot spring facilities in Japan where you can see hot spring water gushing directly from the bedrock, and we will also serve hot spring salt rice balls cooked using ‘Onsen Onto’, a mineral-rich drinkable hot spring at the Expo. Please come and try them.

佐賀牛の宝庫 佐賀県多久市

多久市は九州佐賀県の中央に位置し、農業、畜産が盛んな街です。全国的に有名な「佐賀牛」は、佐賀県特有の穏やかな気候の中で、生産農家の愛情をたっぷり受けて一頭一頭大切に育てられたブランド牛です。柔らかな赤身ときめ細やかな差しが入った霜降りのお肉は旨味と甘みが凝縮した味わいです。また霜降りの多いお肉の断面は霜降りが余すところなく入っているので、全体的にピンク色に見えてしまうほどです。美しい山々に囲まれた盆地で、ホタル飛びかう清らかな水と澄んだ空気のもとで育てられたお米はつやがあり、粒が大きく、もっちりとした触感で甘みや香りが特徴で、噛めば噛むほどにやさしい甘みがひろがります。

Taku City is located in the center of Kyushu's Saga Prefecture, and is a city with a thriving agricultural and livestock industry. The nationally famous Saga Beef is a brand of beef that is raised with great care by farmers in the mild climate unique to Saga Prefecture. The tender red meat and finely marbled meat have a concentrated flavor and sweetness. In addition, when you cut the meat with a lot of marbled meat, it is so full of marbled meat that it appears pink all over. The rice, grown in a basin surrounded by beautiful mountains, with clear water and clear air where fireflies fly, is shiny, has large grains, a chewy texture, and is characterized by its sweetness and aroma, and the more you chew it, the more the gentle sweetness spreads.

Matsubara City

Nagato City

Nagato City is located in the north-west of Yamaguchi Prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan, and is a city of 'spectacular scenery', 'gourmet' and 'Onsen'.

Taku City

Taku City, nestled in the heart of Saga Prefecture, is renowned for its majestically mountainous and lush green scenery. It is home to the Taku Sacred Temple, also known as "Confucius' Village," a nationally significant cultural site dedicated to Confucius, a Chinese philosopher whose teachings continue to inspire.
In recent years, under the slogan "Taku City of Art," the city has embarked on the "Taku City Wall Art Project," inviting artists to transform train stations, public facilities, and vacant houses into vibrant public art spaces.
The city is also a treasure trove of local delicacies, including tender Saga Beef, aromatic sesame, Aoshima pickled Uri, and Yuzu Gosho, which add a unique flavor to local cuisine. Some of these dishes feature beautiful local-grown vegetables like Kirioka Eggplants and Onnayama Daikon.
